Sixty-two passengers and five flight crew members aboard a ValueJet CRJ 900 bombardier airplane escaped death on Tuesday after the plane went into a skid on the runway despite landing safely.
Though no life was lost, some passengers sustained injuries.
The ValueJet airplane “encountered a slip due to algae on the taxiway, which made it unable to maintain the centre line,” according to a statement by the Nigerian airline.
The incident occurred at the Port Harcourt International Airport, three days after a Boeing 737 aircraft with registration number 5N-BYQ operated by Aero Contractors crash-landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
