The Ogun State Government has announced a N50 million reward for anyone with useful information that could lead to the arrest of the killers of Taiwo Oyekanmi, the State’s late director of finance.
Pilot News reported that Oyekanmi was brutally murdered on 29 November by a gang of armed robbers after cashing out an unspecified amount of government funds from a bank. The robbers made away with every penny.
Governor Abiodun described the late Oyekanmi as a “dedicated, honest, and diligent official.” He said his loss is a “tremendous blow to our administration.”
A week after the robbery, no arrest has been made. The State Government is now calling on the people of Ogun State to assist the authorities in apprehending the criminals.
“Information provided would be treated with utmost confidentiality,” Tokunbo Talabi, the Governor’s secretary, said in a statement made available to the press.
