31-year-old Abubakar Tasiu Tanimu, a resident of Tsohon Kasuwa-Mayo-Belwa town of Mayo-Belwa local government area has been apprehended by the Police in possession of 13 ATM cards from different banks.
Other items found on him are a Wallet containing Documents with a National Identity Card bearing the name of Chidi Wilson Sunday, and a handset, Itel model P551w.
The suspect claimed that he stole the wallet from someone that contained the items at Mayo-Belwa T-junction and set to sell the handset at Jimeta Shopping Complex, Yola North local government area.
According to the suspect, luck ran out of him in Jimeta, when he duped a restaurant after eating and refused to settle the bill claiming he had offset it and the owner of the restaurant was not convinced and handed him to policemen on patrol.
Commenting, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, spokesperson of the Adamawa State Police Command, said the suspect was arrested on the 29th December, 2023 by operatives of the Command attached to the Department of State Intelligent on Surveillance Patrol around Jambutu Motor Park in Jimeta.
SP Nguroje added that the suspect will be charged in court upon completion of the investigation.
