President Bola Tinubu, yesterday, departed Abuja for Paris, France, on a “private visit” according to a statement by his spokesman Ajuri Ngalale.
Tinubu’s trip is coming on the heels of a terror attack in Mangu LGA of Plateau State which erupted on Monday night.
The Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang imposed a 24-hour curfew in the LGA to halt the series of distressing attacks. Yet the situation remains tense.
The armed assailants have left a trail of destruction, including the burning of numerous houses, and churches. Scores have also been killed.
Despite the gravity of the situation, Tinubu, who came to power last year after promising to fight insecurity, does not think that it is time for decisive action.
The Nigerian President is expected back in the country in the first week of February.
