a National Diploma II student of the Department of Mass Communication at the Federal Polytechnic Mubi in Adamawa State Jamima Shetima Balami has reportedly committed suicide by consuming a substance believed to be rat poison after falling apart with her boyfriend.
Balami, a 24-year-old who was undergoing Industrial Training (IT) at the Adamawa Television (ATV), Yola hailed from Garkida Gombi, died at her residence in Vinikilang ward in the Girei local government area of the state.
It was gathered that a lecturer at Modibbo Adama University (MAU) Yola, asked her to end their relationship and the only daughter of her father could not withstand the decision of her boyfriend to take her own life.
SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO, confirmed the incident on Monday and said the father of the deceased reported the matter to the police.
