President Bola Tinubu received the report of the killing of the Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Samuel Olusola, and the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsola with a heavy heart, presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngalale said on Tuesday.

Pilot News reported earlier that both traditional rulers were murdered by unknown gunmen, suspected to be herdsmen, on Monday morning.

A few hours later, students of Apostolic Faith Secondary School in Emure LGA of Ekiti State were abducted along with their headteacher and school driver.

Ngalale, the special adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, said, in a statement, that President Tinubu condemns the “mindless and brutal bloodletting” of the Obas.

The President assured that the killers “will not escape justice” while directing security forces to immediately rescue the kidnapped pupils and teachers.

“As security of life and property is the primary responsibility of government, President Tinubu assures Nigerians that the nation’s security architecture is being robustly fortified for better and expected outcomes,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, the abductors of the pupils have contacted the school authorities to demand for N100 million ransom for their release.

Fifteen pupils out of the 25 in school bus were taken away by the gunmen after school hours on Monday.
