An APC group under the aegis of “APC First” has commenced a campaign, emphasizing the supremacy of the party in Anambra State. The group led by Mr. Magnus Eziokwu, former Anambra State APGA youth leader, has said that the campaign is necessary to remind all members that irrespective of diverse personal interests, the ultimate interest of all party members should be the party and its victory in any outing.
Mr. Magnus who recently joined the APC after a brief stint in PDP as a candidate in the last General Election said that Anambra State has to connect to the centre in the state’s best interest. “If Anambra is connected with the party at the centre, the state will gain so much,” he said.
In the past few weeks, the APC First group has been going on courtesy calls to all party stakeholders in Anambra State, with the same message that the party is high and above any individual’s interest or ambition.
In recent months, the Anambra APC has undergone a sort of renaissance with Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, the senator representing the Anambra South zone joining the party. Many other capable professionals have joined the party, including Senator Uche Ekwunife who represented Anambra Central in the senate. Many more capable hands are expected to join the party in the coming months. With the level of mobilisation in the APC Anambra State, the party is expected to become the major rival to the ruling APGA in the 2025 Anambra State Governorship Election.
