Anambra State House of Assembly has confirmed the re-appointment of  Transition Committee Chairmen and members of the 21 Local Government Areas in the state for another three months.
This is in line with Section 208 of the Local Government Law 1999 as amended and as requested by the Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo in his letter to the Assembly for consideration for re-appointment as Caretaker Committee Chairmen into the local government areas of the state.
The House renewed their tenure during today’s plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze and was supported by the lawmakers through a voice vote.
Speaking, shortly after the appointment, Right Honourable Udeze, urged the TC chairmen to remain focused, avoid areas of conflict and promote the agenda of the state governor.
He told the Transition Committee members to partner with community stakeholders and localize the governor’s agenda for the development of the state.
