The Abuja Police Command have arrested the notorious leader of a kidnap gang, Samaila Wakili Fafa, popularly known as Habu Ibrahim.
Ibrahim has been on the police wanted list of the police “for a long time”, police spokesperson Josephine Adeh said at a press briefing on Tuesday.
The kidnap kingpin was behind several kidnapping operations in Nigeria’s capital territory and its environs.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike recently placed a N20 million bounty on him alongside another bandit Saidu Abdulkadir, alias Dahiru Adamu.
While Adamu has already been apprehended, Ibrahim has always managed to escape capture by security operatives but he ran out of luck on 24 February 2024.
The police, “acting on credible intelligence”, laid a siege in Sardauna Forest in Toto LGA of Nasarawa State which led to Ibrahim’s arrest last Saturday.
Adeh told the press, “He confessed that his syndicate masterminded and executed several kidnappings in FCT and its environs, including the abduction of Barr. Chris Agidy, the legal aide to Senator Ned Nwoko and Mr Sunday Yahaya Zakwai, the district head of Ketti village who were later killed by them.”
“Samaila Wakili further led police operatives to where the remains of Barr. Chris Agidy is. The remains was recovered and deposited in Gwagwalada General Hospital.”
