The Kano State Police Command says it will abide by a court order restraining the appointment of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the Emir of Kano.
Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Usaini Gumel while briefing Journalists on Saturday, May 25, affirmed that the command is complying with the court’s directive to maintain the status quo until a ruling is delivered on June 3rd, 2024.
“We are adhering to the court order that mandates the preservation of the status quo until the court reaches its judgment,” stated Gumel.
CP Gumel also warned against any attempts to disrupt the Emirs leading the five emirates, stressing their resolve to enforce law and order impartially.
He stated that the command has not received any directive from the state governor instructing the arrest of Emir Aminu Ado Bayero.
