The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Space Exploration and Research Agency (SERA) from Delaware, USA.
It aimed at advancing Nigeria’s space programme and creating opportunities for civilians to travel to space.
The MoU was signed by the Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology, Mr. Uche Nnaji, on behalf of the Federal Government.
he Director-General of NASRDA, Dr. Mathew Adepoju disclosed this during the special visit of a Brazilian astronaut from SERA to NASRDA office Abuja.
He emphasized the need to start creating awareness about space technology from primary through tertiary education levels.
Victor Hisfanha, an astronaut with SERA who engaged with students from various schools in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), encouraged them to take advantage of the opportunities provided by NASRDA.
Hisfanha stated that the growing space economy could help them realize their dreams of traveling to space.
