The national convention of the Nnewi Union in the United States of America – NUSA, concludes on Sunday, after a weekend of engaging activities that shaped the convention. The 2024 NUSA convention commenced on Thursday as guests arrived at the Marriott Atlanta Airport Gateway, the venue of the convention, from around the world.
Guest Speaker at the convention, Chief Ben Etiaba, a renowned chartered accountant of international repute, arrived at the venue on Thursday from Nigeria. Similarly, Prince Obianefo Orizu, PhD, Nnewi’s Crown Prince, also arrived at the convention venue from Nigeria. Dr. Okey Chidolue, a retired director at the Nigerian Ports Authority, and a founding figure of the Union, equally arrived from Nigeria, among many other attendees. Guests from all parts of the United States graced the convention, packed with exciting programs to educate, elevate, and deliberate on ways to move Nnewi forward and entertain.
One of the convention’s highlights was the cultural night on Friday, followed by the 2024 Chief Chike Momah Memorial Academic Excellence Award, granted to about 34 recipients. Beneficiaries are sons and daughters of Nnewi who have distinguished themselves in learning in the United States.
On Saturday, Ben Etiaba also chaired the convention’s Gala Night at the Grand Ballroom of the Atlanta Gateway Marriott Hotel. This effectively signaled the conclusion of the 2024 NUSA convention, as guests are set to depart on Sunday, to their various locations.
Ebuka graduated with a second-class upper-division degree in Political Science from the University of Calabar in Nigeria. He furthered his education by obtaining a Master's Degree in Political Science with a specialization in Government and Development Studies from Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka, Nigeria. His academic background and professional experience have equipped him with a deep understanding of political dynamics and governance issues.

The PowerPoint presentation by Dr Chinedum Aranotu from Nigeria was not mentioned at all. Was it deliberate?

Hi Ebuka Onyekwelu! Your write up was okay/good, but you omitted a very important piece of information that was a hallmark of the occasion and that is, your failure to mention and/or talk about Sen./Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, CON, the Special guest who came all the way from Nigeria to deliver a lecture on the theme of theme of the Convention and that is: ‘ URBANIZATION & SECURITY CHALLENGES IN OUR CITY OF NNEWI!
To me, this was a huge error, at any rate, the Convention was a huge success-Elder Johnny Ndubuisi Chinedum Oraefo-USA.
