The Chairman of Dambam Local Government Council in Bauchi State, Yakubu Garba Tela, has died after a brief illness.
Mukhtar Gidado, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Bala Mohammed confirmed the development in a statement issued on Saturday.
Governor Mohammed described the late Tela as a dedicated public servant, grassroots mobiliser, and community leader who devoted his life to the service of his people and the development of Dambam Local Government Area.
According to the governor, Tela would be remembered for his humility, commitment to duty, and the positive contributions he made to governance at the local level.
The funeral prayers of the late council chairman were conducted around 2:00 p.m. today at Misau Central Mosque.
