The State Independent Electoral Commissions (SIECs) in Delta and Adamawa States have declared the results of last Saturday’s local government polls conducted in their respective states with People’s Democratic Party (PDP) sweeping all the chairmanship seats.
The Chairman, of Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, Dr Jerry Agbaike who announced the results in Asaba said the People’s Democratic Party won the 25 local government chairmanship seats and settled 499 councillorship positions, while the Allied People’s Movement won one councillorship seat in Aniocha North local government area.

Agbaike described the elections as peaceful, credible, free, and fair, and commended the security agencies, the media, observers, and ad hoc personnel for ensuring the smooth conduct of the polls.
Similarly, the Chairman, of Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) Mohammed Umar has declared that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has won all 21 Local Government Chairmanship seats and 225 councillorship seats, while the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) won one councillorship seat in Demsa local government area.
Umar, who announced the results on Sunday in Yola, said 18 political parties participated in the council polls.
