NewsNigeriaKatsina Residents Goes Spiritual Over Hardship, Insecurity

Due to lingering economic hardship and insecurity in Katsina State, some Muslims in the State came out en masse on Tuesday to observe a special prayer session to seek Allah’s intervention.

The prayer session attended amid tight security was held at the Katsina Arabic Teachers College playground premises, Filin Samji, Filin Yammawa, and Filin Canada football grounds within the Katsina metropolis.

They prayed to Almighty Allah to end the lingering economic hardship, hunger, and insecurity, among other challenges bedeviling them.

The Muslims performed the ‘Al-Qunut prayer’; a supplication offered while standing when a calamity befalls any community.

They explained that such prayers are the last option for them to address hunger, insecurity, and other challenges bedeviling the state.

According to some analysts, the decision was apt due to the persistent clash between security operatives and the Nigerian youths protesting against the high cost of living.
