Dr. Stella Ngozi Nkulume, who led the medical mission, was received by Hon. Paul Obu, who affirmed the competence of the members of the mission while thanking Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his support to the team. Hon. Obu also reiterated that the mission is in line with his promise to his constituents of Orumba North. He also remarked that the mission would benefit not just his constituents but also Anambra indigenes and residents. The Anambra State Commission for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike, also joined the outreach and commended Hon. Paul Obu and the visiting team.

The medical mission commenced on August 7, with the first outreach in Ezira, a community in Orumba South LGA, and it witnessed a large turnout as people participated to benefit from the world-class healthcare brought to their doorsteps by the team of Nigerian Nurses in North America. The mission also moved to Umuoji, in Idemili North local government, with an impressive turnout as well.

Similarly, the medical outreach was extended to Ajalli in Orumba North local government and then Akwaeze in Anaocha local government, among other communities before rounding up the last week. In each instance, the visiting team was accompanied by Hon. Paul Obu, Anambra lawmaker representing Orumba North constituency, Dr. Afam Obidike, Commissioner for Health in Anambra State, respective local government transition chairpersons, among other government functionaries, as well as traditional rulers and other community stakeholders.

Hon. Paul Obu, elected on the Labor Party platform in the 2023 General Election, was the only Labour Party candidate to win an election in the whole of Anambra South senatorial district. More so, his was a hard-fought victory against a formidable incumbent who was a Principal Officer of the 7th Anambra State House of Assembly, a member of the ruling APGA, and a former Chairman of Orumba North LGA. So far, many attest that Hon. Obu is walking his talk and using his contacts to facilitate quality representation for his constituents.
