The Combat Proficiency Competition 2024 of the 3 Division Inter- Brigade has kicks off with tug-of-war at the Gibson Jalo Barracks 23 Brigade, Yola Adamawa State.
The 6 formation across the 3 Division with 53 commissioned officers are taking part in the Combat Proficiency Competition.
General Commanding Officer GOC, Commanding 3 Division, A.E Abubakar said the Competition is to boost the combat readiness and proficiency in line with global best practices and to foster comradeship amongst the formations.

Represented by Brig General A.Aminu the trainer 3 Division Training Officer, the GOC, explained that the combat proficiency is requisite for the officers’ mentality to perform with higher level of professionalism.
The GOC while urging the participants to embrace Esprit De Corp during the completion, they should strive to take the trophies and thanked the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Toareed Abiodun Lagbaja for approving the resources for the competition.
In his message, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri applauded the Nigerian Army for organizing the competition, and called the officers to combat peacefully and equip themselves professionally.
The Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG Barr Auwal Tukur, acknowledged that insecurity has bedeviled the country, noted that the competition would be an opportunity for training.
In his remark, the Commander 23 Brigade, Brig General PK Zawaya said the combat proficiency will equip and motivate the force towards achieving their constitutional responsibility.
He added that the exercise will boost the morale of officers and enhance troops involved in the joint operations to curb insecurity challenges in the Northeast.
