Barr. Ifeanyi Mbanusi, a lawyer and successful businessman, has declared to contest the Chairmanship of Idemili North Local Government, in the September 28 Local Government Election, on the platform of Labour Party- LP. Mabnusi, who hails from Umuoji has been a committed member of LP since around 2013 and only recently, he was a member of the LP Presidential Campaign Council in the 2023 Presidential Election and also helped to mobilize support for the party in Anambra State, during last year’s election.

Since joining the contest for the Chairmanship of Idemili North LGA, ahead of the LG Election later next month, his entry has been received with open arms in Idemili North and affirmed as a genuine desire to serve the people.

A law graduate of the University of Lagos, Barr. Ifeanyi Mbanusi also holds a master of law degree, but that is not all. He is a businessman of impeccable quality, who attained remarkable heights in business at a young age. Also, he is a community leader, one with the aptitude for truth, and fair play. Hence, Barr. Mbanusi’s entrance into the contest hints that the coming local government election in Anambra State might produce desirable results upon which the hopes and aspirations of the ordinary people can be anchored for a better governed and more organized political leadership at the grassroots.

The coming Anambra State local government election has been viewed with a lot of suspicion owing to the two sudden amendments to the Anambra Electoral Law 2024, as well as the notion that the governor is working hard to take other political parties unaware to the advantage of his political party. However, quality aspirants for the chairmanship across the twenty-on LGAs and for councilors, once supported by their political parties; might pull a surprise and actually go ahead to make the difference.
