Anambra State government has announced restriction of movement in the state today, Saturday from the hours of 8am to 4pm.
A press release by the state commissioner for information, Dr Law Mefor said the restriction is to ensure a seamless local government election in the state.
He said: “Ndi Anambra are hereby informed that there is a movement restriction throughout Anambra state on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 8 a.m to 4 p.m, as the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) requested.
“The restriction order is to ensure a peaceful and seamless exercise during the Anambra State Local Government Council Election.”
Mefor in the press release said except those on election duties and essential services such as ANSIEC officials, electoral observers, accredited Journalists, ambulances responding to medical emergencies, firefighters, etc.
He advised that in the interest of peace, everyone is advised to comply fully with the order to avoid the wrath of the law
