Anambra State has once again been acknowledged for its unwavering commitment to education, as teachers from the State secured top positions in the prestigious 2024 Presidential Prizes for Secondary Schools in Nigeria.
This recognition was made during the World Teachers’ Day celebration
According to the results of the awards, Mr. Nwosu Joseph, a dedicated teacher, received a brand-new car for emerging as the overall best teacher across all categories, earning him the top position in the entire federation.
Mr. Nwosu, who hails from Ogbaru in Anambra State, serves as a teacher at Government Technical College, Osomala, Ogbaru Local Government Area.
In a similar vein, Holy Child Secondary School, Isuofia, Aguata LGA, Anambra, was honoured as the second-best secondary school in Nigeria.
Furthermore, the prize for the second-best primary head teacher in the federation was awarded to Chukwudumeme Franca Adaeze of Aforigwe Primary School, Umudioka, Dunukofia LGA, Anambra State.
Notable among other achievements was Dr. Umezinwa Grace Amara of Girls High School, Uga, Aguata LGA, Anambra, who won the prize for the second-best secondary school principal in Nigeria.
Additionally, Anambra teachers secured second place in the March Past competition involving all 37 States and federal education parastatals.
