Manchester United have announced the departure of Erik ten Hag as the men’s first-team manager.
Ten Hag was appointed in April 2022 and guided the club to two domestic trophies, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024.
“We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future,” the club said in a statement.
The club confirmed that former striker Ruud van Nistelrooy will take over as interim head coach.
Nistelrooy will be supported by the existing coaching staff while the search for a permanent head coach is underway.
