Valentine Ozigbo, a Labour Party (LP) candidate for the 2025 Anambra governorship election, has raised serious concerns about the rising insecurity in the state under the current governor, Prof. Charles Soludo.
Ozigbo claimed that violence and instability are increasing, and the situation seems to be getting worse instead of better.
He pointed out that insecurity, social injustice, poor policies, and lack of accountability are major issues for him and other concerned citizens in Anambra. “The people of Anambra are unhappy and seeking real change,” he said.
Ozigbo promised that, if elected in 2025, he would bring integrity, vision, and responsibility to the government. He emphasized the importance of the upcoming election, calling it a critical moment for the Obidient Movement, with him as a leading candidate.
At the 2024 Obidient Movement South-East Good Governance Symposium, held at All Saints Cathedral in Onitsha, Ozigbo thanked the movement for supporting his campaign. He praised their work in promoting good governance and holding discussions on Anambra’s future.
The symposium was organized by the Obidient Movement along with Anambra State Support Groups, and it was supported by the VCO Foundation and Naija We Can. The event provided a space to discuss Anambra’s challenges and to advocate for a transparent and accountable government.
Ozigbo expressed his gratitude for the endorsement he received from the Obidient Movement and Anambra Support Groups, which originally backed him in August 2024. He thanked the “Big 6” groups, including the Peter Obi Support Network and Women for Peter Obi, for their support in pushing for positive change in Anambra.
He also introduced a document called “Ka Anambra Chawapu,” which presents his plans to improve Anambra. He believes these policies would make the state stronger and more prosperous if they were put into action. “The people need to come together to bring change to our state,” he said.
Ozigbo encouraged unity and determination among his supporters, saying, “In Nigeria, we are Obidient. In Anambra, we are VALiantly Obidient. Let’s work together to bring positive change to our state.”
Ozigbo also shared his vision for Anambra through his presentation, “Ka Anambra Chawapu: An Ideological and Governance Framework,” describing his plans for a more accountable and sustainable government in Anambra.
