The Dangote Petroleum Refinery, Africa’s first privately-owned oil refinery, has announced a reduction in the price of its Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, to N899.50 per litre.
The price cut is intended to ease transport costs for Nigerians during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
This development was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina.
Mr Chiejina explained that the decision to lower the petrol price was part of efforts to support Nigerians during the festive period.
“To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. From today, our petrol will be available at N899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or SPM,” he said.
He added that the refinery has also introduced a special offer for consumers.
“Furthermore, for every litre purchased on a cash basis, consumers will have the opportunity to buy another litre on credit backed by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank or Zenith Bank,” Mr Chiejina stated.
He expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their continued support and reaffirmed the refinery’s commitment to providing competitively priced, high-quality, and environmentally friendly petroleum products.
