NewsNigeriaPoliticsAction Alliance Announces Withdrawal From Membership Of CUPP

…Restates Its Commitment To IPAC

Action Alliance (AA) has disclosed its decision to withdraw its membership from Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP),.

According to the party, the association no longer represents their collective values due to lack of legal backing, internal organisational structure and leadership.

The party however, restated its commitment to the membership and ideals of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC).

The national chairman, Barr (Chief) Kenneth Udeze stated this in a press conference yesterday.

Udeze said, “I stand before you today with a heavy heart and a clear conscience to announce our party’s decision to withdraw our membership from the CUPP.

“This was not an easy decision, but after careful consideration and reflection, our party has come to the realisation that our values and principles are no longer aligned.

“Over time, we have observed and participated in discussions, meetings, and events that have led our party to question the CUPP direction and actions. Despite our efforts to contribute to positive change, by engaging in constructive criticism as opposition, we have come to believe that our differences are insurmountable.”

The national chairman added, “We want to emphasise that our decision is not taken lightly, and we appreciate the opportunities we had to engage with like-minded individuals  within  the CUPP who share our passion for the cause of deepening democracy and promoting good governance.

“However, we can no longer continue to support an organisation that we feel no longer represents our collective values due to lack of legal backing, internal organizational structure and leadership, above all the loss of its collective strength which was the case when the organisation was formed prior to the 2019 general election.

“Action Alliance will continue to advocate for the good cause of providing constructive criticism,

“Promoting good governance and deepening democracy as a party with its membership in the Inter Party Advisory Council Of Nigeria (IPAC) and working towards creating positive change in the Nigerian state. We hope that our decision will serve as a catalyst for reflection and growth within the CUPP as a group.”
