The First Bank of Nigeria PLC has launched a fully automated Digital Xperience Centre, DXC, at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State

At the launch on Wednesday, the Managing Director of First Bank, Mr. Olusegun Alebiosu stated that the Digital Experience Centre enables financial inclusion for customers to experience world-class innovative banking services.

On its operation, the FBN MD, Mr. Alebiosu explained, “It is very simple. Get your ATM cards and do your transactions yourselves. This initiative aims to enhance the banking experience for students and the community by providing convenient digital banking solutions.”

“This tells the world we are prepared for the future. The future starts with this technology. We are going to launch all these across many campuses in Nigeria. Our relationship with UNN has been cordial. This land was given to First Bank for free. We shall continue to strengthen this partnership,” Mr. Alebiosi promised.

In his response, the Vice Chancellor of UNN, Prof Oguejiofor Ujam, commended First Bank, saying, “UNN has been doing business with First Bank for a long time. It is an honour that UNN is the first university to get this digital experience in the country.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Calistus Obetta, the Group Executive for Technology, Digital Innovations, and Technology Services, described the FB Digital Technology Experience as a blend of digital and physical experiences.

He explained, “Whether you are opening an account or withdrawing, they can be done without hitches. It reflects the dynamics of the era. The banking operations are now available twenty-four hours a day.”

The FirstBank Digital Xperience Centre (DXC) is a fully automated branch first launched in 2021.

The DXC branch is built with a wide range of phased modern banking facilities, including humanoid robots equipped with the following: Video Banking and Artificial Intelligence (AI), taking on the role of branch staff.

Other features include Teller Cash Recyclers (TCRs): Self-Service kiosks for non-financial transactions such as account update, ATM Card issuance, Fixed Deposit booking between N100,000.00 and N5,000,000.00.

Paperless/electronic forms are designed to promote the timely resolution of complaints, the dispensing of account statements, and account enquiry/management. Also, funds transfer, card services and management, cheque management, email and phone number update, ATM card and token hot listing, amongst many other services, are available at the DXC.
