The 2025 UTME was conducted between 24 April and 5 May 2025 across over 800 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide.
In its analysis, JAMB said 40,247 underage candidates were allowed to sit for the examination. However, only 467 of them (1.16 per cent) attained the score set as the benchmark for “exceptional ability,” with further assessments pending.
Also, 97 candidates were confirmed to have committed examination infractions, while another 2,157 are under investigation for suspected malpractices. In addition, 71,701 candidates were absent during the exam period. Those who experienced biometric verification issues are being investigated and, if cleared, will be rescheduled.
Meanwhile, some results, including those of blind candidates and others under the JEOG category, are still being processed.
A press conference is expected later this week to officially announce the results and guide candidates on how to check their individual scores.
Meanwhile, the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr Maruf Olatunji Alausa, has commended JAMB for what he described as a “globally recognised standard of integrity and coordination” in conducting the 2025 UTME.
