The Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese, Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza, has charged Nigerian Journalists to be objective in their reportage and desist from reporting on issues that will bring chaos in society.
Bishop Mamza gave the reminder while addressing Journalists at his residence in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, to commemorate the 2025 World Communication Week.
He noted that reporting will bring positive development in all strata of life, and people would support them in the course of discharging their duties.
This year’s World Communication Week, Bishop Mamza said, was declared by the late Pope Francis, who chose the theme “Share with gentleness, the hope that is in your hearts,” which ran from May 25 to June 1, 2025.
“Nigerians should not lose hope, despite difficulties and security challenges bedevilling the country,” he said.
On the Federal Government’s plan to borrow billions of naira, Bishop Mamza advises the government to use the money recovered by the EFCC and use it instead of continuing to borrow.
