Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to restore electricity supply to Northern Adamawa communities affected by insurgency resulting in disconnection of power supply from public source.
Governor Fintiri who stated this on Friday in Gulak, Madagali local government area, emphasized that substantial efforts are already underway to reconnect affected local government areas to the national grid.
The areas targeted for power restoration include Madagali, Michika, and parts of Hong Local Government Areas which suffered destruction from insurgent attacks.
While receiving the Mbege Ka Michika, His Royal Majesty, Professor Bulus Luka Gadiga, who paid him a courtesy visit, acknowledged the devastating impact of vandalism on power infrastructure, resulting in economic decline in the region.
Governor Fintiri urged the people of Michika Chiefdom to support ongoing developments, noted that restoring electricity will significantly stimulate local economic activities.
On security, the Governor called on residents to work closely with their traditional leader to tackle insecurity.
He warned against shielding criminals, stressing that such actions jeopardize the state’s peace and development.
Fintiri assured the community of his administration’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
In his remarks, HRM Professor Bulus Luka Gadiga expressed gratitude on behalf of the Michika people for the Governor’s contributions to the development of the Chiefdom.
He also commended the Governor’s security initiatives, stating that they have restored peace and allowed residents to live and work without fear.
