The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, on Saturday, buried father, Chief Sir Sylvester Ezeokenwa, who passed on a few months earlier at 71 years. The funeral, which took place at Umuchu in Aguata local government, was very well-attended by APGA leaders, leaders of other political parties, the governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, members of the State Executive Council, members of Anambra State House of Assembly, and the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Young Progressive Party, YPP, Uzu Okagbue. Attendees include serving members and former members of the House of Representatives, among others.

Pa Ezeokenwa, who was a former leader of APGA in Onitsha South LGA, was a Knight of the Church and a community leader. The funeral mass conducted by Bishop Jonas Benson, the Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, was also attended by the Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, His Eminence Ebele Cardinal Okpalaeke, and Bishop Denis Isizoh of Aguleri Diocese.
Speaking about the character of Pa Ezeokenwa, various speakers described him as a good and god-fearing man, who infused God in his politics throughout his active political life. Pa Ezeokenwa was also described as a good and honourable family man who looked out for his family and treasured his wife and children.
In his remarks, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo said he did not doubt that Pa. Ezeokenwa was a good man. He also took the time to thank the officiating Bishop for rebuking advocates of Biafra who had turned against their people through diverse criminal ventures. The governor then reiterated his recent speech in America, where he said that all the people arrested in relation to the insecurity in Anambra State are from the Southeast. He also thanked Ezeokanwa’s family for complying with the Anambra burial law.
