Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has led the Progressive Governors on a condolence visit to the Kogi State governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, over the demise of his father, the late Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo.
The governors, elected on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), on Wednesday expressed their profound sympathy over the death of the patriarch.
They also extended their condolences to the Ododo family, the people of Okene, and Kogites in general.
They were received by the Kogi State governor, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, alongside his predecessor, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
Former governor Bello thanked the Forum for standing in solidarity with the governor during this trying moment, commending the Progressive Governors for their unity and support.
Governor Ododo, on his part, expressed gratitude to his colleagues for their support and for sharing in his grief.
He said his late father taught him to live a life of service to the people. He also appreciated his predecessor for playing the role of a “dependable father” throughout the period of mourning, burial, and even after.
Accompanying the Governor of Imo State were the Governors of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Ekiti governor, Biodun Oyebanji, Ondo governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa Gombe governor, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, Cross River governor, Bassey Otu, Akwa Ibom governor, Pastor Umo Eno and Edo governor, Monday Okpebholo, as well as representatives of other governors.
