The Honourable member of the Anambra State House of Assembly representing Awka South Constituency 1, Hon. Henry Mbachu, has decamped from the Labour Party, LP, to the Young Progressive Party, YPP.

Announcing his decision to leave his former party and join the YPP, Hon. Mbachu said he took his time to read the political atmosphere and, after due consideration, he came to the conclusion that the YPP is the best vehicle that aligns with his legislative agenda for the people of Awka and Okpuno, whom he represents. Reiterating his support for the YPP ahead of the November 8 Anambra State Governorship Election, Hon. Henry Mbachu said that the YPP is Anambra’s best hope for good governance and that he fully aligns with the party and would work for its candidate in the November gubernatorial election. “Good day, my dear people of Awka and Okpuno…I am here this day to declare to you my defection from Labour Party to the YPP. This decision is made on the foundation of a carefully thought-out way for the good people of Awka and Okpuno, with the best interest at heart,” Hon Henry said.
