Ahead of the National Convention of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) scheduled to hold on November 15 and 16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State, the party has commenced the compilation of its list of delegates ahead of its much-anticipated National Convention.

Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, and Chairman of the PDP National Convention Organizing Committee made the announcement in Abuja during a meeting of the Protocol Subcommittee of the convention.

Governor Fintiri assured party members that the process of compiling the delegates’ list would be conducted with utmost fairness, transparency and commitment to internal democracy.

Fintiri also disclosed that the list of delegates would be made public, in line with the committee’s commitment to openness and democratic practice.

He stressed that the era of secrecy and favouritism in party affairs was over.

“It’s not a closed system; it’s open. There’s nothing to worry about, it’s true democracy. If you feel you are popular, go to the field and test your strength. In the end, those supported by the majority will emerge victorious,” he said.

He commended the enthusiasm and growing turnout at party meetings, describing it as a positive sign of renewed confidence among members.

He emphasized that the forthcoming convention would reflect the PDP’s enduring values of inclusion and accountability.

“I want to reassure you that on our side, we are fully committed and will not leave any stone unturned. We are putting in our best and making sacrifices to ensure a successful convention and battle,” Fintiri said.

Fintiri described the party as the foundation of his political rise and personal fulfilment.

“Apart from Islam, PDP is the next association that has given me everything I have achieved in life. I will forever remain grateful to this party,” he declared.

The Adamawa governor vowed that the party would not falter under his leadership, assuring that the convention would produce credible and respected leaders to steer the PDP forward.

He noted that all aspirants who have purchased forms and met the necessary requirements would be allowed to contest freely.

“We are not going to deny anybody the chance to contest. I will personally ensure that the screening process is transparent. Everybody who has purchased forms will be screened, provided there are no encumbrances in their documents or past records. Go and test your popularity in the field,” he added.

According to him, the rising participation signals that “life is returning to the party” as members increasingly trust in the leadership’s direction and sincerity.

Fintiri expressed optimism that the PDP will emerge from the convention stronger, more united and better positioned to reclaim power at all levels.

“At the end of the day, we will provide the kind of responsible leadership required to steer this party forward,” he concluded.
