The Enugu State Government has approved scholarship awards for 1600 indigenes of the state for the 2025/2026 academic session in Nigerian Universities.
A public service notice signed by the Commissioner for Education, Enugu State, Prof. Ndubueze L. Mbah, PhD, calls on Enugu State indigenes to apply for the 2025 scholarship awards through the Enugu State Scholarship and Education Loans Board.
Available scholarship categories include undergraduate, teachers, and postgraduate levels.
While 500 undergraduate indigenes in 100 and 200 levels (in tertiary institutions in Nigeria) will benefit from the awards, one thousand slot have been earmarked for indigenous teachers in Enugu State Government schools who aspire to obtain their Master’s degree; teachers who benefit from this scholarship must commit to teaching learners and students in Enugu State Government schools for a period of 10 years after the scholarship award.
For the Postgraduate Scholarship, 100 slots are available for indigenes in the Master’s and PhD programs at Nigerian universities.
“To be eligible, you must be a confirmed indigene of Enugu State, and have a valid admission for undergraduate/postgraduate study or teacher education beginning in the 2025/2026 academic session.”
“Required documents include: Valid LGA of origin Identification Letter • Valid Admission Letter • Letter of Acceptance of Admission • Attestation Letter from your Traditional Ruler (HRH)”
Teachers who are interested must, in addition to the above documents, present their Employment Letter and Passport Photograph.

Ensure your internet connection is strong for the exam. Visually impaired students and students with Disabilities in 100 and 200 levels are encouraged to apply.”
