The proposed $200 million Mega Poultry Project in Kaduna state will create over 350,000 direct and indirect jobs, positioning agriculture as a major driver of employment and economic growth.
Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, who disclosed this on Thursday during a meeting with the Minister of Livestock Development, Alhaji Idi Mukhtar Maiha, said both parties moved to align federal and state efforts ahead of the project’s groundbreaking.
According to him, the scale of the investment will absorb thousands of youths and smallholder farmers, while deepening agribusiness participation at the community level.
“While strengthening food security and opening up opportunities across the poultry value chain, including feed production, processing, packaging, transportation, and marketing, the project is expected to generate more than $450 million annually,” Governor Sani said.
The governor added that the initiative would position Kaduna State as a leading hub for modern poultry production and agribusiness in Africa and thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for selecting Kaduna to lead the initiative, which aligns with the federal government’s livestock development agenda.
Governor Sani recalled that in December 2025, he visited China at the invitation of the government, where he toured CP Foods Layers and Eggs (Beijing) Ltd, a facility producing nearly three million eggs daily.
