President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani as Renewed Hope Ambassador and deputy director-general for party outreach, engagement and mobilisation.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was announced in a statement issued by the State House and signed by the president’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, the president made the appointment in his capacity as leader of the All Progressives Congress, citing Governor Sani’s leadership and organisational abilities.
The statement said the Kaduna Governor would work closely with the director-general of the Renewed Hope Ambassador initiative and the party hierarchy, especially the APC national chairman, to coordinate outreach and mobilisation efforts nationwide.
“The appointment is with immediate effect,” the statement said.
It added that Governor Sani’s responsibilities would include fostering harmony, inclusiveness and strategic coordination across the party’s mobilisation structures at various levels.
“The Governor’s responsibilities will include working in close collaboration with the director-general of Renewed Hope Ambassador and the party hierarchy, particularly the national chairman of the APC, to ensure harmony, inclusiveness, and strategic coordination across all levels of mobilisation and engagement architecture.”
The President said the new role would help strengthen public confidence in the party and deepen awareness of its programmes and policies nationwide.
President Tinubu expects the Renewed Hope Ambassador and Deputy Director-General “to galvanise, promote and disseminate the party’s programmes and policies, including milestones and achievements, thereby strengthening public confidence and reinforcing the message of Renewed Hope nationwide.”
In a letter to Governor Sani announcing the appointment, the president stressed that the assignment is central to the party’s preparations ahead of the 2027 general election.
“The overall objective of your appointment is to ensure that the entire citizenry is aware of, understands, and ultimately supports our party and its candidates at all levels for broad national acceptance in the 2027 election. Preparation is critical and essential to achieving this outcome, and your leadership will be central to guiding this process effectively and strategically,” the letter read.
Governor Sani, a former senator representing Kaduna Central, has served as Governor of Kaduna State since May 2023. He is regarded within the APC as a key figure in grassroots mobilisation and party organisation in the North-West.
