The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sen. Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan, has admonished political gladiators to desist from the temptation to ignite violence and intimidate voters before, during, and after the upcoming 2027 general elections.
Sen. Natasha made the appeal at the stakeholders meeting of the Kogi People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lokoja over the weekend, stressing the need for political gladiators to play the game by the rules.
“Politicians should endeavor to embrace political battle devoid of killings, intimidation and destruction.
“The game should be played in a manner that would give room for voters to come out in their large numbers to exercise their franchise without fear” Natasha said
She advised party members to be vigilant in protecting the party’s victory by ensuring that votes cast at each polling unit within their constituencies are not tampered with.
The lawmaker commended the return of some party chieftains who had earlier left the party due to grievances and urged them to redouble their efforts alongside other members to ensure that the PDP emerges victorious at the polls.
“We as party leaders would not relent in our efforts to ensure total reconciliation of all agrieved members to boost unity, peace, and teamwork for the success of PDP in Kogi” Natasha assured
She also pleaded with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to provide a level playing field for the candidates of all political parties during the polls.
Earlier, Kogi PDP Chairman, Mohammed Gambo, expressed confidence that the PDP will reclaim Kogi State in the upcoming elections, promising effective mobilization of eligible voters to cast their votes for all the party’s candidates.
He urged party members to remain focused and committed to ensure the party’s victory at the polls.
