The Enugu State Ministry of Health has confirmed 19 new cases of COVID-19 in the state bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 76.
While 44 cases are still on admission, 27 have been discharged and 5 deaths in Enugu State.
The new 19 cases were confirmed barely two days after 22 cases were confirmed.
In Nigeria, 490 new confirmed cases were recorded as on 16th of June, 2020 bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 17,148 while the 31 new deaths bring the total number of deaths to 455.
Out of 96,402 samples tested all over Nigeria, the nation records 17,148 confirmed cases, 11,070 active cases, 5,623 discharged and 455 deaths.
So far, out of 36 states and Federal Capital Territory in Nigeria, 35 states have recorded cases.
“Covid19 is real,” laments Commissioner for Health Enugu State, Dr. Obi Emmanuel Ikechukwu.
He further called on residents to help the government to help them by adhering strictly to all precautionary measures outlined by the government.
