Adamawa state government will seal off any private school that fails to comply with the COVID-19 protocols for exiting students currently writing their final examinations.
Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development in the state, Mrs. Wilbina Jackson stated this when she visited some schools in Yola North and Yola South local governments to ensure total compliance with the preventive measures as exiting students write their final examinations.
Some of the schools visited include Aliyu Mustafa Academy, Concordia College, Luggere Day Secondary School, and Government Day Secondary School Ngurore.
The Commissioner who was impressed with the compliance level in the schools visited in observing coronavirus preventive protocols, warned that the government will deal firmly with any school that has a shortfall.
“The management of private schools that are not strict on observing social distancing should do so or face the wrath of the law”, Jackson added
It was observed that both students and staff had their facemask and were observing social distancing both in classes and the examination halls.
Similarly, hand washing buckets are placed at strategic places while the temperatures of students and staff are checked before being allowed entry into the school premises.
