GAURA — Over 200 cows, 70 sheep, and ceased a motorcycle were rescued on Friday evening from terrorists who attacked the Nasarawa-Bugaje community of Katsina state.

SP Gambo Isah, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state made this known in a statement, explained that the terrorists, who were well armed with sophisticated weapons, stormed the community in large numbers, shooting sporadically into the air and rustled their domestic animals in the process.

According to SP Gambo, on receiving the report of the attack, “the command quickly dispatched police patrol teams to the scene who engaged the hoodlums in a fierce gun duel.”

Part of the statement read: “Many of the terrorists escaped the scene with gun wounds and abandoned one of their operational motorcycles.”

“The recovered 200 rustled cows and 70 sheep were due to the operational strategy and skills adopted by the gallant policemen that made them overpower the terrorists.”

 “The police patrol teams are presently scanning the scene with a view to arresting the fleeing terrorists and recover their operational weapons.”
