The Mississippi State House of Representative, United States, has honoured renowned multi-business tycoon and serial entrepreneur, Dr. Helen Oritsejafor with a congressional commendation and recognition for her outstanding and laudable philanthropic feats to millions of lives through her non-profit organisation, ‘Dr. Helen A Hand to the Needy’ Foundation.

Dr. Oritsejafor, the wife of Papa Ayodele Joseph Oritsejafor, a one-time CAN and PFN President in Nigeria, was celebrated at a conference held at Sheraton Hotel, Abuja, themed ‘The African Legislative Legal and Good Governance Conference’, organised by African Leadership Organisation.

The conference was conceived by the desire to project the African story from an African perspective, focused on individuals and corporations, known for their legacy-based approach to leadership and rendering of effective and significant changes in the continent.

The conference was also organised with the intention to bring some level of solutions to how African leaders can address the challenges confronting the region.

The Speaker to the House, Lataisha Mona Jackson, said through the foundation, Oritsejafor had been stimulation of hope to millions of people with unique qualities of commitment for growth and development of lives.

According to her, the foundation has helped individuals with struggling businesses of both small and medium scale in the society affected by the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, by providing highly intellectual business training, as well as financial support and start-up capital.

The event was well attended by top leaders in the professional and business circle including the Chief Executive Officer, First Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Adesola Adedotan; Her Excellency, Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor, Vice President of the Republic of Liberia; President of National Bar Association, United States, amongst others.
