Habeeb Okikiola, the Nigerian street-hop singer better known as Portable, has revealed his ultimate goal as a musician which is to win a Grammy award.
In an interview with content creator, Timi Agbaje, Portable said he desires to win the ‘Best Artiste in Africa’, as his nickname, ‘Ika of Africa’ implies, at the annual music awards event organised by the Recording Academy.
“That thing I’d want to do that’ll make me truly fulfilled is to win a Grammy. I want to win the category of ‘Best Artiste in Africa’. Best artiste o! Number one! That Ika of Africa, I want to use the title to collect that award,” Portable said.
Portable’s disclosure is coming hours after the ‘Crazy Tings’ crooner, Tems was announced the winner of a Grammy award at the 65th edition of the annual award event on Sunday night.
Besides the fact that Portable’s preferred award category, ‘Best Artiste in Africa’ is non-existing in the Grammys, Nigerians are curious to see how the controversial singer can assert himself over Africa, dominating the likes of Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, and Black Sherif to become the best artiste in the continent.
