Niger State Police Command in collaboration with the military combing five areas in the state following the reported killing of 25 farmers and the abduction of many others from the Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State by armed bandits.

The attack was to have taken place on Saturday around 2:00 pm across five villages.

The Police Public Relations Officer Niger State Command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun who disclosed this said the personnel was dispatched to Yakila, Tegina, Kagara, Pandogari, Kusherki, and other villages to restore normalcy in the affected areas.

The Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District, Mohammed Sani Musa, had expressed concern that the bandits had resumed attacks on 4 local government councils in his constituency, including Rafi, Paikoro, Munya, and Shiroro.
