Anambra’s first lady clears hospital bills for 10 women to mark 53rd birthday
On Monday, in celebration of her fifty-third birthday, Mrs Nonye Soludo, the Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, paid visits to the Nteje Rehabilitation Centre, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COOUTH) Amaku-Awka, and the Community Children’s Home in Awka.
These visits have become a regular practice for the governor’s wife, and they provided her with an opportunity to check on the well-being of individuals receiving treatment in the state-owned rehabilitation home and the children residing in the orphanages.
During her visit to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital Amaku-Awka, Mrs Soludo generously covered hospital bills for ten women who had recently given birth, including one who had a caesarian section.
In her remarks at each venue, Mrs Soludo expressed that making such visits, especially on her birthdays, has always been part of her routine, and she finds great fulfilment and satisfaction in reaching out to those in need. She acknowledged that her life is a testament to grace and expressed gratitude to God for blessing her with good health and longevity.
Mrs Soludo commended the caregivers at the hospital and homes for their dedication and selflessness. She appealed to them to prioritize the dietary needs of the children and those in the rehabilitation centre while maintaining a clean environment to prevent diseases.
