NewsNigeria50 Communities May Witness Flooding This Month – NEMA

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) says 50 communities may likely witness heavy rainfall that would lead to flooding between Sept. 13 and 17, 2023.

Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, NEMA Lagos Territorial Coordinator made this known in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos.

Farinloye said communities likely to be affected are Sumaila and Kunchi in Kano State, Argungu in Kebbi State, Bindawa, Jibia, Kaita, Katsina in Katsina State, Kontagora, Mashegu, and New Bussa in Niger and Kosubosu in Kwara State.

Others are Kaura Namoda and Shinkafi in Zamfara State, Bajoga, Darazo, Kirfi, Azare, Jama ‘are, Itas, Misau in Bauchi State, Bali, Donga, Lau, Serti, Mutum-Biyu, Yorro in with; Taraba, and Briyel, Biu, Dikwa, Kukawa in Borno State.

Also likely to be affected are Ganye, Mubi, Demsa, Jimeta, Mayo Belwa, Numan, Shelleng, and Song communities in Adamawa state, Dapchi, Gashua, Geidam, Kanamma, Machina, Potiskum in Yobe, Nafada in Gombe State, Dutse, Gumel, Gwaram, and Miga in Jigawa state.
