The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has sacked Senator Ishaku Elisha Abbo representing Adamawa North Senatorial District of Adamawa state.
The Appellate court vacated the tribunal judgment which had earlier affirmed Abbo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the Senatorial election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Abbo the winner of the February 25, 2023, parliamentary election.
The three-member panel presided over by Justice Chioma Nwosu-Iheme in its judgment ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to issue a Certificate of Return to Amos Yohanna of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) as the duly elected senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
