Nigeria’s longest-serving monarch – since February 1963 – HRH, Igwe Kenneth Onyeneke Orizu III of Nnewi Kingdom, celebrated his 98th birthday on Sunday.
The birthday coincided with the 60th anniversary being the Diamond Jubilee of his reign.
Igwe Onyeneke flagged off the series of events to mark the double celebration by cutting a cake with members of his royal cabinet.
While the birthday celebration has ended, the Diamond Jubilee celebration will run with multiple remarkable events until the official commencement of the 2023 Ofala festival.
