The Nigeria Police Council, NPC, has confirmed Kayode Egbetokun as the Inspector General Of Police, IGP.
The NPC gave its nod on Tuesday at the police council meeting, presided over by President Bola Tinubu, at the State House, Abuja.
The NPC comprises the 36 state governors, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, and the chairman of the Police Service Commission, PSC.
Egbetokun has been serving as the IGP albeit acting capacity since his appointment by President Tinubu on June 19, 2023. He took over from Usman Alkali Baba.
Until his new appointment, Egbetokun was a deputy inspector-general of police.
