Task Force Committee on Retrieval of Government Houses and Quarters set up by the Adamawa State Government has so far sealed 97 houses allegedly occupied illegally at Specialist Hospital, Yola, and General Murtala Mohammed College staff Quarters Yola.
Engr. John Vandu, Chairman of the Task Force who ordered the sealing of the residential quarters said 34 families occupied government quarters at the Specialist Hospital, Yola, and 63 at General Murtala Mohammed College were found to be either retirees or civil servants working in other places.
Vandu vowed that all houses and quarters belonging to the government were illegally occupied under the guise of owner-occupier scheme, stressing that the committee is committed to fulfilling the mandate given to it by Governor Ahmadu Umar Fintiri to retrieve the houses back to the Government.
The committee continues with the exercise to other government establishments.
