The Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed the N225.893 billion budget for the 2024 fiscal year as presented by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
The passage of the budget followed the presentation of the report of the Committee on Finance, Budget, and Appropriation at Tuesday’s plenary presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley.
The Assembly unanimously considered the report presented by the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Haruna Jilantikiri (Madagali), and after its adoption, the Majority Leader, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno (Demsa) moved for the third reading of the appropriation bill and seconded by the Minority Leader, Hon. Umar Suleiman Alkali (Yola North).
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley said that all the recommendations have been carried out with a few amendments.
He explained that the recurrent expenditure is N111.379 billion while the capital expenditure is N114.514, totaling N225.8 billion for the services of the state in 2024.
The speaker then directed the clerk of the Assembly to prepare a clean copy of the bill for the Governor’s assent.
