In commemoration to mark the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, President Bola Tinubu has performed the wreath-laying ceremony with other dignitaries held at Eagle Square, Abuja.
There were also gun salutes, prayers, and the release of pigeons during the event held annually to honor Nigeria’s fallen heroes.
Participating at the event were the service chiefs, led by Gen. Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, as well as the heads of other security agencies.
Members of the diplomatic corps, federal executive council members, and other dignitaries were there to observe the event.
A similar ceremony is held across Nigeria where state governors and other dignitaries also perform the laying of wreaths to mark the day.
